POLARIZED. Contract Summary: Satisfied Customer - 2013.05.23

We recently helped out a resident of a C1 wormhole. Here is what he said about the experience:
"tl;dr I paid mercs to gank some T3s evicting my friend and I. KM at bottom.
Saturday I logged my scout pilot into my home C1 wormhole. I had an in game mail saying the shield on my small POS was down to 99%. While slightly concerning, I thought no big deal, someone came in and went around shooting things hoping to stir up a fight. If I had been online I would have tried to fight them - I just probably would have lost miserably due to being fairly new.
I soon realized the situation was a bit more serious - I warped to my POS and saw it was in reinforce mode. Uh oh. 23 hours to go. I checked my friend's POS in the same system and his was also reinforced, with only 2 hours left on the timer. I realized the eviction was on! Crap. I understand the risks of W-space but this was my first encounter with a serious threat who wanted to remove us.
Well, I might be pretty noobish and still shaking off my carebear upbringing but I'll be damned if I give this up without a fight. I had my first ganks in this hole! Oh the memories. And I had a few hundred million in loot in my hangar, which I had no idea would become unavailable in the event of reinforced mode. Not a big deal, but annoying. (From now on nanoribbons get stored in haulers, not the hangar)
I spent the next hour in the Merc Contracts channel and was extremely impressed with the people there. I got in contact with a highclass WH diplomat and he suggested it might just be a Stront check, and that most likely no one would come back to destroy the POSes. Well, that seemed like great news.
Call me naive or just a wishful thinker, but I thought that sounded pretty good, so I did a little PvE while waiting on my friend's POS timer to see what would happen. 8 minutes beforehand I see a login from the guy on my POS warning mail. Simultaneously I see a Cheetah on dscan. Then 5x Tengus on dscan. Oh yes, it is definitely on.
I got back in touch with the diplomat but I did not give enough lead time. 8 minutes until reinforce ends, and Polarized tells me they are searching for K-space exits to come serve the contract. Hell yes! But only 8 minutes, and then the shield and armor on a medium POS are not much time for the logistics that need to happen. As reinforce ends, 5 Tengus and 2 Oracles appear. They start blowing up the tower. Polarized is just a tiny bit too slow. I watch my neighbor's tower explode just as the front running scouts from Polarized find my wormhole. It's worth pointing out I was still extremely impressed they made it from a C6 -> Kspace -> across the universe -> My wormhole in a little under 20 minutes or so. Not bad - I only wish I had given more warning.
That is OK though, at least my own tower still had a reinforce timer, and we did not give anything away to scare the Tengu group. Fast forward to Sunday morning. I start the process over - thankfully I was able to talk to the same diplomat and this time we did it right.
I only had a shield Drake fit for PvP, which was incompatible with the merc armor-repping fleet, but that is OK. I just wanted to kill some Tengus and didn't care if the Drake survived or not. I got a fleet invite, got on comms, and was super excited to be part of this gank. I sat in my Drake, inside my POS shields, as the Tengu group started to fire on the tower. We waited til the right moment. Hictors jumped in from K-space, warped onto grid and dropped bubbles. I burned outside of shields and pointed a Tengu. As everyone landed on grid, all 7 enemies were trapped in the bubbles. We added more points to our targets and burned them down in glorious explosions. And I didn't even lose my Drake :)
Big shoutout to the Merc Contracts channel for making a newbie's revenge possible, Hathrul for coordinating things (twice), Katy Cloud who lost the first tower but got in on some revenge, and especially Io Armaghast who spent hours of extra time helping me rep the POS shields and guns with some alts. Lastly, Freay Chrome, the aggressor - glad to see the GF in local, thanks for being a good sport and chatting afterwards and I'm glad we got to watch your Tengus explode :)
