TANK THAT!!! Mister Asteroid Killer (Part 3)

Greetings my fellow pod pilots, & blog readers!!!

In part 2 of this thread, I asked what kind of stats should a ship of this type have?  I started filling in all the numbers, and quickly realized that I am not a stat guy.  I could randomly place numbers into spots, but I wouldn’t have a clue on how they would fully translate in game.  So instead I’ll just list some of the general stats and explain its role.

THE TORTUGA
The Tortuga is the largest craft in the third generation of mining vessels created by the ORE Syndicate. Deep Space Exhumers, like their mining barge cousins, are equipped with electronic subsystems specifically designed to accommodate Strip Mining modules. They are the most resilient Exhumer built to date, designed specifically to handle the dangers of hostile space. What the Tortuga lacks efficiency is made up in its survivability.

The idea that I have for the Tortuga is that it is meant to survive long enough for help to arrive.  It isn’t meant to be a combat ship.  It won’t go in and simply lay claim every asteroid belt or gas cloud that it enters.  I see a massive buffer tank when setup & skilled properly.  I would hope that a new Deep Space Exhumer skill would be introduced with the launch of this ship. (Exhumer V would be a prerequisite)

Let start with the ship’s bonuses:

Mining Barge Skill Bonus:
+% better yield for strip miners & +% in ice harvester duration per level
+% bonus to all armor resistances per level
Deep Space Exhumers Skill Bonus:
+% bonus to armor hit points per level & +% bonus to structure hit points per level
+% bonus to cargo capacity per level
Role Bonus:
Able to equip strip miner and ice harvester turrets
?% bonus to repair amount of hull repair systems

The idea of the bonuses would be to make the ship have a massive buffer tank.  The goal would be that they could handle a typical ganker alpha strike & then some. (Especially after the introduction of the new Tier 3 BCs.)  I envision them tanking like a command ship.  Yes it will take awhile to whittle them down, but they would go down under sustained fire.  It should be less efficient than the Hulk in its mining role.

General Stats
Cargo Capacity                                               10000m3 (Larger than a Hulk, because it is a bigger ship!)
Max Targeting Range                                        60km (They need to be able to defend themselves, how can you control your drones if you can’t target your enemy?)
Drone Bay                                                        75m3
Drone Bandwidth                                              75Mbit/sec  (If a BC and do it, why not a massive mining ship?)

Fittings
Low                                    4
Mid                                     4
High                                    3
Turrets & Missile Bays        0
Rigs                                    2

What do you think?  Is this a good start or is it too much love for the carebear miners?
