Greetings my fellow pod pilots and blog readers!
So there you sitting... camping a gate. The gate flashes. The FC calls for the Interdictor to, "Bubble up!" The bubble surrounds the gate, prohibiting the instant warp off. Your prey holds cloak, waits out the gate timer, and then cloaks up. Just as fast as he appeared on your direction he seems to have disappeared. The FC calls, "Fast movers go for the de-cloak!"
So now what do you do?
If you are one of those fast movers, and know you will be expected to go for the de-cloak, then there are couple of simple steps that one can take to have a chance:
1. Position yourself above or below the gate. This will insure you are equally as close to the target when they jump through the gate. Other wise you are just depending upon dumb luck to be on the right side of the gate.
2. Have your MWD or AB already activated. Turning on a MWD after you begin to move will only have your speed drop to 0 m/s before it begins accelerating to top speed. You will want to be driving toward the target as soon and as fast as possible.
3. As soon as the target appears Align/Approach the target. You want your ship headed toward your target.
4. When your target cloaks, immediately set your ship to top speed. When your selected target cloaks you ship will stop approaching it, and automatically drop to 0 m/s. By immediately setting your speed to maximum your ship will continue on its path toward the last position before its cloak.
5. Cross your fingers and hope you get within 2000m of target for the de-cloak.
6. Have your warp disruptor/scram active and be ready to lock the de-cloaked ship.
***Tip*** Good fleet-mates will have assigned their drones to assist those ships going for the de-cloak. It causes the drones to orbit at a larger orbit than if they were orbiting the ship that commanded them.
Until next time,
Be Bold...
